In many of our past blog posts about pollinator-friendly planting, we’ve discussed the Lawns to Legumes Program with readers. This program offers Minnesota residents the opportunity to apply for individual grants, which offer up to $300 reimbursement to cover the costs of establishing pollinator gardens in their yards. There was a lot of interest in the program with its initial launch and this next round of funding has been highly anticipated! So we wanted to share with you that it’s now official! The Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources is now accepting a new round of applications for these grants. Aside from the cost-sharing bit, the program also offers workshops, coaching, and planting guides to help residents succeed!
For more detailed information on the program head over to the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources’ Lawns to Legumes webpage!
How to apply: Apply online at Blue Thumb’s Website. Applications will be accepted through February 15, 2022. Funding decisions and all notifications will be emailed in March 2022. Grant recipients have until December 15, 2022 to install their projects.
