Perennials plants can make a great addition to any landscape and have many advantages.  Annual flowers are beautiful but they only provide one season of color and must be replanted every year.  Perennials can be less work and less costly because they do not require replanting every year.  Yes, some winters can be hard and we may lose a few plants here and there, but overall they return each year with no trouble at all.  Better yet, with proper selection perennial plants are available that will provide color and interest all year long – even in winter!  Additionally, perennials provide pollen, nectar, seeds and nesting material for birds, butterflies and other pollinators.
